TIGER’s ambitious goals for 2030

The green gene has always been an integral part of TIGER's DNA. In view of the fact that the effects of climate change are becoming increasingly evident every year, sustainable management has become even more crucial to our eco-system. The time has come to take a more holistic approach to our economic activities. This means consistently factoring in all the effects of our actions and taking responsibility for all the consequences of our value creation processes.

TIGER's clearly delineated path towards a green, sustainable future is reflected in distinctive milestones in our product range: environmentally friendly powder coatings, water-based digital inks and coatings, high-performance polymers for additive manufacturing (AM), along with the closed-loop management of our processes and our resource-conserving use of energy and materials. We have been reporting on our material and energy flows since the mid-1990s. This transparency forms the basis for our strategic green goals and measures.

TIGER has defined seven global sustainability goals that we want to achieve by 2030. These are based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the TIGER Vision, which has long had a green ethos.

Products

Reducing the carbon footprint of our products along the entire value chain by 50%

By 2030, we want to halve the emissions generated during the manufacture of our products and their applications.

Resource efficiency

Reducing our overall waste rate by 15% (based on kilograms per unit produced)

Resources are limited, so they need to be used efficiently. We are aiming to reduce our specific overall waste rate by 15% compared to 2022.

  • Ongoing reduction of scrap in all regions
  • Reduction of (disposable) packaging material through the use of silos and expansion of technology

Energy efficiency

-10% specific energy consumption (based on kilograms per unit produced)

The best kilowatt hours are unconsumed kilowatt hours. Our goal is to reduce TIGER’s specific energy consumption by 10% by 2030. Together with our TIGER energy officers, we want to focus on energy efficiency.

  • Acquisition of a compressed air camera with ultrasonic measurement
  • Reduction of plant downtimes and visualization of idle plants
  • Raising awareness among employees, workshops with the production area

Renewable Energy

80% renewable energy

We urgently need to phase out fossil fuels at TIGER and elsewhere. Overall we aim to achieve an 80% share of renewable energy in our energy mix.

  • Conversion of heating buildings to renewable district heating
  • Planning of photovoltaic capacity expansion in all 3 regions
  • Diploma thesis on the subject of alternative heat supply for synthetic resin production

Supply chain

100% of our key suppliers meet the TIGER sustainability criteria

We want to ensure that all TIGER key suppliers adhere to our sustainability criteria by 2030. We are gradually expanding the supplier evaluation process to achieve this.

  • Inclusion of the transporters in the supplier evaluation
  • Definition of initial criteria on the topic of sustainability
  • Evaluation of software solutions for handling assessments

Safety at work

No serious accidents at work

A healthy workplace is a top priority at TIGER. After all, our TIGERS can only develop their full potential if they feel comfortable within their territory. We will conduct evaluations of all jobs based on physical and psychological criteria and offer in-depth workshops to prevent serious accidents.

  • Completion of evaluations of physical stress at all production workplaces
  • Evaluation of mental stress screening completed + in-depth workshops
  • Occupational safety integrated into apprentice training plan
  • Ongoing coordination meetings of the occupational safety committee

Diversity, equality & inclusion

Equal opportunities for everyone in the workplace

TIGER recognizes that if companies are to rise to the challenges of our fast-moving, complex times, they need male and female leadership energy in an inclusive work environment that appreciates and accepts everyone as a person of value – regardless of gender, background, culture, identity, or disability. That’s why TIGER is including Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in its annual key figure reporting and aims to increase the proportion of DEI employees in its workforce to at least 30% by 2030.
