FAQ’s FlexCURE

No, you have full flexibility within the curing window to decide which settings to use in your production.

TIGER has carefully considered customer needs and designed the new curing window to overlap significantly with the previous one.
By the way of illustration, if you have been curing your parts at 200°C for 15 minutes and prefer not to change this setting, you can continue to do so.

The graphic above illustrates the extended curing window of Series 67 Fine Structure in comparison to previous curing conditions.

For the FlexCURE technology, resins have been further developed or newly formulated. This allows the curing window to be extended to temperatures ranging from 160 to 200°C, offering maximum flexibility in selecting curing conditions.
All other components, as well as the visual and functional properties of the powder, remain largely unchanged (additives, pigments).

The colors of the FlexCURE series are matched to the existing TIGER Drylac® series. Therefore, usual batch-to-batch variations can be expected.

The compatibility with other powder coatings from different manufacturers remains unchanged with this transition.
However, it is important to continue the usual cleaning procedures for the equipment.

Yes, the fine texture FlexCURE Series 67 is certified with GSB Florida 3 and Qualicoat Class 2, with more approvals to follow.

TIGER Drylac® Series 68 Fine Texture will be the first surface to be switched to FlexCURE Series 67 fine structure on March 20, 2025.

Starting March 20, all fine texture products from the standard stock list and color cards of TIGER Drylac® Series 68 will be switched to FlexCURE Series 67.
During a three-month transition phase, the corresponding products of TIGER Drylac® Series 68 will still be available from stock upon request.

The 5-digit product number after the series designation will remain unchanged (with few exceptions); only the series number will change.
Example: DB 703 Fine Texture 68/80045 will become DB 703 Fine Texture Matte 67/80045.

The following FlexCURE Series 67 products are already available for testing purposes:

  • Fine Texture / Matte RAL 7016: 67/70190
  • Fine Texture / Matte RAL 9016: 67/10079
  • Metallic Fine Texture / Matte DB 703: 67/80045

The TIGER Drylac® Series 68 fine texture products from the standard range and color cards will be phased out by June 20, 2025 at the latest.
If required, these products can still be obtained as special-order items.

Construction projects are often coated over extended periods and may even require follow-up coatings at a later point in time.
During the transition phase, we cannot guarantee the availability of specific series and batches at a later time.

Therefore, we recommend coating projects directly with FlexCURE whenever possible. If necessary, the previously used TIGER Drylac® product can still be obtained as a custom order product.

The processing guidelines and the requirement to use the same batch for a project whenever possible remain unchanged with FlexCURE.

Yes, as before, there are the usual variations in color and gloss within the curing window.

The EPD certificate for FlexCURE Series 67 can be found here.

The new FlexCURE Series 67 Fine Texture is technically compatible with the previous TIGER Drylac® Series 68 Fine Texture; there is therefore no incompatibility if the two products are mixed.
However, the usual batch fluctuations are to be expected, which is why we advise against mixing the two products when coating a component or object.
