Magical Two Coat Applications
Are you looking for a surface finish that stands out? Need something colorful? Dormant effects are comparable to liquid candy coatings offering bright and vibrant colors. In addition, dormant powder coatings provide a deep metallic effect, that is sure to make a statement. These powder coatings require a topcoat to 'activate' the color.
High gloss or anodized matte appearance
Once a dormant color is selected, the Clear Coat then brings the finish to life. Here you can choose between a glossy or matte appearance. The gloss level can be controlled depending on the type of clear coat. In addition, with the aesthetics of this additional layer comes an extra functionality in the form of an increased durability. Ease of application and excellent batch consistency
In order to apply TIGER Dormants, no changes need to be made to the usual coating process - the powder coating can be sprayed on electrostatically and cured in the oven as usual. Furthermore, TIGER Drylac® Series 59 powder coatings are characterized by high batch consistency and cycle stability. Their insensitivity to changes in system parameters and changes in the proportion of fresh powder to reclaimed powder make them a sustainable alternative to liquid coatings: for MORE surface finishing.
Dormant Finish Highlights
Please note: Dormant Powder Coatings are sensible products, that need to be handled with care. This applies to the film thickness and exact curing time as both of these parameters can heavily influence the final result. Also, thorough cleaning of spray booths and equipment after the application process is necessary in order to avoid cross-contamination. Please see data sheet no. 1139 for further information. Dormant products are not intended or suggested for architectural use. In such cases, please refer to products form TIGER Drylac® Series 14, 29 and 68.
