How to get the "Big Flake" look in power coatings - Glitter Products are the Answer!
When you are after those big, sparkling flakes on a black background, TIGER has you covered!
Glitters are transparent/clear topcoat products with 'glitter' flakes imbedded right into the topcoat. These can be applied over any color basecoat to provide a huge range of sparkling metallic effects.
TIGER stocks Silver 49/00320 and Twilight 49/00390 glitters depending on the look you want.
Silver 49/00320
Silver Metallic flakes shown over Black 49/82830. Silver Glitter is a polyester topcoat with a metallic smooth gloss finish. Topcoats may change the appearance of the basecoat color. Spray a test panel to ensure results meet your expectations.
Twilight 49/00390
Multi-colored flakes shown over Black 49/82830. Twilight is a polyester topcoat with a metallic smooth glossy finish. Topcoats may change the appearance of the basecoat color. Spray a test panel to ensure results meet your expectations.
Black Stardust 49/90009
Black Stardust is not a topcoat. It features metallic flakes suspended in a black basecoat with a metallic smooth, glossy finish. A clear topcoat is recommended to protect the metallic flakes and provide extra shine and depth.
Pro Tips
A thicker coat means more metallic flakes. Although this is a 2-coat process, keep in mind too thick can lose flexibility in the coating and reduce overall durablibity.
Also, to minimize the risk of stress cracks it is recommended to cure the topcoat at the upper end of the relevant cure window as described in the Product Data Sheet.
