When investigating your company’s ecological impact, it is not enough to just consider your own operations. In our specific case there also must be looked into the upstream supply chain and, even more importantly, the processing of the powder that TIGER produces. One of our long-lasting customers, Peneder, serves as a showcase example for powder applicators and demonstrates how they managed to greatly reduce their emissions when powder coating.
About Peneder
Peneder is a traditional family business that operates internationally through two units in both industrial construction and fire protection. As a general contractor and manufacturer of fire doors and gates the company employs almost 400 people delivering innovation, speed, and high-quality construction solutions.
Substituting gas with biomass
Since the beginning of 2022, the powder coating and building heating are operated with biomass. Before the modernization, both the powder oven and the central heating system were powered with gas. This change allows Peneder to greatly reduce their dependency on fossil fuels, but also lets them save around 400 tons of CO2 per year. Find the link to the full report here!
Shared goals
Both TIGER and Peneder set ambitious targets for the future and aim to further work on their sustainability. These range from carbon neutrality by 2030 in the case of Peneder, to the development of innovative low-curing products and increased renewable energy share for TIGER. In detail, we want to use 80% renewable energy in all our locations to contribute to the energy transition.
We are happy to have partners and customers that think the same way and are open to collaborate on new innovations, ideas and solutions!
